Utility Bills for City of Poulan Residents:
City Ordinance Article 1, Section 11-9 through 11-15 address utility bills. Residents are reminded that per City Ordinances, Water bills are due on the 10th of each month. Late fees are assessed on the 11th for utility bills not paid on or before the 10th of each month. Water services will be locked out/turned off for non payment on the 16th of every month, and accounts not paid on or before the 15th will be assessed a delinquent account fee. Account balances must be paid in full before water services are restored. Any extensions considered will be given on a case by case basis, at the discretion of the City Clerk and Mayor. Extensions are not GUARANTEED.
Solid Waste/Trash on Right of Ways:
City Ordinance states that no trash be left out on City Right-of-Ways. Inert debris (yard waste, limbs, leaves, etc.) MUST be separated from brown debris (garbage, rubbish, etc.) Household garbage (TRASH and EXCESS THAT WILL NOT FIT IN YOUR CAN) must NOT be left in City Right-of-Ways. If you need an additional can, please contact City Hall. Building waste (plaster, mortar, masonry, roofing), Industrial waste, Hazardous waste, TIRES, or dead animals over 30 pounds WILL NOT be collected and are NOT ALLOWED. Failure to comply with City Ordinances regarding solid waste collections/disposals are subject to penalties. If you need assistance with excess brown debris, you can call City Hall and have a work order created to pick that up. The cost for excess pickup is $60 and is added to the water bill. As a County resident, you do have the option to take excess to the landfill free of charge.
